The Great Big Treasury of Beatrix Potter is just what it sounds like-a treasure trove of wonderful, endearing small tales featuring both people and animals. Beatrix Potter has today given rise to a huge industry of toys, games, and theme parks, yet the stories are still as new and exciting as they were in 1901. The Giant Treasury of Peter Rabbit, Further Tales of Peter Rabbit, and The Giant Treasury of Beatrix Potter are three volumes that have been combined into one magical volume called The Great Big Treasury. Along with his virtuous sisters Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cotton-tail, Peter Rabbit is the protagonist of numerous stories. He is a naughty and rebellious little boy. While Mr. McGregor's alluring garden is brimming with delectable fruits and vegetables, their patient mother works tirelessly to keep Peter out of trouble. Old Mrs. Rabbit warns her children not to enter the garden because their father had an accident there in one of Beatrix Potter's humorous lines found in the books. He was baked inside a pie! Other noteworthy characters include the impolite Squirrel Nutkin, Benjamin Bunny, the cousin of Peter Rabbit, two evil mice named Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle and Tailor Simpkin, a frog named Mr. Jeremy Fisher, and many others.
